Machine Erect Shelf-Ready Pack

One of our customers asked us to re-design a pack to hold 12 packets of ham.

The original pack was made as a two-piece machine-erect tray and glued hood - a time consuming operation to pack. It had initially replaced a re-usable plastic crate.

The aim of the re-design was to increase productivity for a new tray-erecting machine.

Our new design offers an effective and robust transit pack that can be adapted for almost any food product. This includes frozen goods, as the pack can be manufactured in a special freezeable grade of corrugated board.

The 3 x 3 perforation pattern on the back panel enables a clean tear, which is vital for shelf-ready presentation. The square shape of the pack facilitates more efficient handling and palletisation, offering a significant transport cost reduction.

The print details include a step by step guide to the opening of the pack, which enables a prompt transfer to shelf in the retail outlet.
